Offering you FREE samples and having a FREE space for stories and spiels, FREE of gatekeepers, makes me oh so happy.
In my work as a copywriter, I am paid to make clients happy and more often than not, I am successful. When I began to write copy, I often felt frustrated in not being to say what I wanted. Once I started to write fiction, I became a happy copywriter. I enjoy the activist imperative of creative problem-solving and honestly, I dig the cheap thrill of deadline adrenaline. I especially love crafting messages in voices that connect with audiences. (Working at home makes me happy too, for more on this, see Offsite Spiel.)
In my work as a fiction writer, my goal is to allow the material to present itself and then to communicate by using the best possible language within the form which seems to have chosen me, the story. Engaging in this practice enables me to keep learning. In the process, if I am brave and persistent, I am to able to locate and reveal something essential. If I am lucky, I get to share the result with a reader.
For me, both kinds of writing are necessary; in them I find a sustaining balance. It’s taken me a long time to find the equation for my own happiness (see Art+Commerce Bio for more on this.)
The Creative Commons License means you may use anything or everything from the copy samples, all of which use the word FREE in their titles– as long as it’s not for commercial ($$$) purposes. You may do whatever you want with the stories and spiels, as long as you attribute them. Of course if you have $$$ to spend on copy, stories and/or spiels, I am happy to accept assignments, commissions and checks made payable to me.
Thanks for coming to visit.
